Kenny Wheeler (1930-2014) was a Canadian born trumpeter, composer and educator based in London since 1952. A vital part of the UK jazz scene and a prolific composer he enjoyed a long association with the Munich based ECM label which earned him an international reputation. His final recording, “Songs for Quintet” was released posthumously by ECM in January 2015.
