Composer and multi-instrumentalist; a key player in the Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians (AACM) and a founding member of the Art Ensemble of Chicago. Founder/leader of the Sound Ensemble and The Note Factory; also co-founder of the trio Space and, with Evan Parker, the Transatlantic Art Ensemble.
