Alto saxophonist and composer born in the USA but of Indian heritage. A highly accomplished jazz musician Mahanthappa’s more recent projects have also seen him exploring his Indian cultural ancestry. His most recent releases include “Samdhi” (2011) and “Gamak” (2013) both on ACT.
