Starace is an Italian alto/soprano saxophonist based in London. His UK quartet includes pianist Frank Harrison, bassist Laurence Cottle and drummer Chris Nickolls. This line up appears on the album “Blood & Champagne” (2010).
In 2012 Starace’s Italian Quartet released “Simply Marvellous”, a tribute to the late French pianist and composer Michel Petrucciani. Starace was joined by pianist Michele Di Toro, bassist Attilio Zanchi and drummer Tommy Bradscio with guest appearances coming from Roger Beaujolais (vibes) and Fabrizio Bosso (trumpet/flugelhorn).
