Full Biography

From a young age, Terence Collie was destined for a life in music. At just 12 years old, his parents gifted him a keyboard, sparking his passion and setting him on a path that would lead him to become a celebrated jazz pianist and composer. By 17, Terence was already making waves in the music scene, performing with a band in Jersey C.I. and honing his craft in the island’s hotels, pubs, and nightclubs.

His love for jazz blossomed during his regular performances at the Blue Note Jazz Bar, where he immersed himself in the genre and learned from seasoned musicians. This period saw him sharing stages with luminaries like Teddy Edwards, The Average White Band, and Georgie Fame. Returning to the UK mainland in the late 90s, Terence secured a residency at Pizza Express in Cambridge, further expanding his jazz repertoire and perfecting his technique.

The early 2000s marked a new chapter as Terence earned a diploma in music from the Open University and ventured into jazz-fusion with his group, Prison Break. He recorded two albums, showcasing his talent for composition and production. In 2013, Terence co-founded Mood Indigo Events, bringing high-quality jazz performances to new audiences and curating events with international artists.

As a versatile sideman, Terence has performed with a host of notable musicians, including The Kyle Eastwood Band, Zoë Gilby, Greg Abate and Tony Woods and gracing esteemed venues like The 606 Club, The Pheasantry, The Vortex, The Bear Club and The Stables. His talent has also been featured at major festivals such as the London Jazz Festival, Brecon Jazz Festival and the Cheltenham Jazz Festival.

During the pandemic, Terence adapted by live-streaming concerts and collaborating remotely, growing a dedicated online following. His recent projects include the critically acclaimed albums “Reminiscent” and “384,400”. Terence’s quartet, featuring Roberto Manzin, achieved sold-out shows, underscoring his impact on the contemporary jazz scene.
