An appeal from drummer, composer and arranger Romarna Campbell.

The young Birmingham based drummer and composer Romarna Campbell has launched a GoFundMe campaign to help finance her forthcoming studies at the famous Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, USA.
Romarna Campbell writes;
I’m a female drummer, composer and arranger from Birmingham. I’m 21 years old and have spent the last two years studying at Birmingham Conservatoire. I have recently been accepted to transfer to Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA on a partial scholarship for Fall 2017, for which I am still actively fundraising. I have set up a GoFundMe page here: http://www.gofundme.com/JourneyToBerklee , in an effort to raise the rest of my tuition. I have also been accepted into the Banff Summer Residency in Canada on scholarship in August, with Vijay Iyer being the Artistic Director for the program!
More information about me can be found on my website http://www.romarnacampbellmusic.tumblr.com
I have attached links below of my band B L A N (C) A N V A S playing music from my new project called ‘Limitations of Our Imaginations’, featuring Xhosa Cole, Harry Weir, David Grey, Wayne Matthews and I. The videos are from a recent performance at Birmingham Town Hall, playing support for Terri Lyne Carrington’s Mosaic Project.
‘Limitations of Our Imaginations’ features original compositions and arrangements by me. It’s an exploration of how music can push and break down barriers, what it’s like to navigate modern life as a young person and musician and an insight into me as a bandleader, composer and arranger. Expect explosive moments, mixed with quiet thoughtfulness inspired by a deep-rooted influence of bebop, hip-hop and neo-soul. We are currently in the process of organising the recording of our first EP, due to be released this summer.
Kind regards,
Romarna Campbell
