Some sad news
I have a slightly sad update about Daylight Music. Last week I learnt we were unsuccessful with our arts funding bid. This means any future events are very much in jeopardy, a difficult place to be in as we plan our series now nearing its 15th year in 2024.
In contrast to this we are so happy with where we ended our last run in the company of Lost Map, with the community of musicians and music lovers we got to spend the weekend in London and Kent. It felt incredibly special and rewarding.
I feel I’d also like to mention some of the other recent highlight this year, such as our adventures with Hackoustic, Matthew Bourne’s curation, the epic London Accordion Orchestra and Guildhall Saxophone Ensemble in Telegraph Hill, our first workshop with School of Noise and the many different sounds and experiences and ideas from artists and ensembles from around the world. Put simply we don’t want to stop bringing you music, tea & cake in welcoming spaces.
There is no way to sugar coat it, this is a big setback, and we will do our best by adapting our plans, re-apply for funding but for the moment for us to continue we need your help. Please consider supporting our latest crowdfunder and sharing this where possible,
Thank for your reading,
Ben Eshmade
