Brecon Jazz Festival Presents: Springtime Jazz Day-Festival – April 12th 2025
The countdown to Brecon Jazz Festival 2025 begins with an exciting new addition to this year’s program: the Springtime Jazz Day-Festival.
Taking place on April 12th, 2025. This special one-day event will showcase an impressive line-up of talented artists across multiple venues in Brecon, providing audiences with a thrilling preview of the main festival scheduled for August.
The Springtime Jazz Day-Festival will feature both free and ticketed performances, with highlights including:
Ben Creighton Griffiths at Found Gallery (12:30 PM) – One of Wales’ most captivating harpists, known for his dynamic interpretations of jazz standards and original compositions.
Saskia Laroo & Warren Byrd at The Muse (2:00 PM) – Making her first- ever UK performance, internationally renowned trumpeter Saskia Laroo will take the stage alongside jazz pianist Warren Byrd. Accompanied by Paula Gardiner (Parliamentary Jazz Awards 2024 Winner) on double bass and Mark O’Connor on drums, Saskia will deliver a show blending jazz, funk, and world music in a ground-breaking, eclectic style.
Glen Manby at Found Gallery (4:00 PM) – Bringing smooth and soulful jazz to the intimate setting of the Found Gallery, perfect for a relaxing afternoon performance.
Jack Mac at The Muse (7:00 PM) – A powerhouse saxophonist celebrated for his dynamic fusion of jazz, funk, and blues. Jack Mac’s performances are
nothing short of electrifying, making him one of the UK’s most promising young musicians.
Jon Crespo Trio featuring Jane Williams at Brecon Tap (9:00 PM) – A free late-night performance featuring jazz trumpeter Jon Crespo and the remarkable vocals of Jane Williams in a cozy, vibrant setting.
This vibrant day of music offers something for everyone, from internationally acclaimed artists to talented local musicians. As a teaser event leading up to the main festival, the Springtime Jazz Day-Festival also represents a key moment in Brecon Jazz Festival’s ambitious mission to reclaim its status as a premier cultural event in Wales and beyond.
