Brecon Jazz Festival Saved

The Arts Council of Wales has announced that after considering proposals put to it for managing future jazz festivals in Brecon it would now be asking Hay Festival to take on the challenge

The Arts Council of Wales has today announced that after considering proposals put to it for managing future jazz festivals in Brecon it would now be asking Hay Festival to take on the challenge.

Although the main focus will now be on the 2010 festival Hay Festival plans to appoint a committee to arrange a small scale programme of activity for 2009. This will help to maintain continuity and will also bring much needed funds into the local economy.

As a regular attender at Brecon over the last twenty five years The Jazz Mann is delighted that a solution has been found and that the Festival will continue. I look forward to hearing details of the 2009 programme shortly.
