Bobby Timmons’ compositions, such as ‘This Here’, ‘Dat Dere’, and ‘Moanin’, were pivotal for iconic groups like Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers and The Cannonball Adderley Quintet.SoulTime! is committed to revitalizing these classics with the original spirit, infusing them with abundant melody, soulfulness, and the infectious grooves that defined the era. They are joined by the formidably creative pianist Tim Lapthorn to offer an evening of swinging, dynamic jazz steeped in the rich harmony and beautiful melodies of Latin America as it’s inspiration exploring the familiar and less familiar Tom Jobim songbook, songs by Vinicius de Moraes, Coqueijo, Cavaquinho and others, through to the influential contemporary composer Toninho Horta.
