Chesterfield Jazz Club announce new series of jam sessions.

Sunday, January 13, 2013

Wendy Sprakes of Chesterfield Jazz has sent news of a regular series of jam sessions for 2013. Details attached.

Here’s what Wendy has to say;

From February, Chesterfield Jazz presents Jam Session ? an opportunity for those folks who play an instrument or sing and would like the chance to work with the house band, in order to hone their skills or simply have fun. These nights will be on the first Thursday of every month (apart from March, as Jim Mullen will be joining us at our regular jazz night then).

Our resident host Cathy Hamlyn will organise the evening whilst the house band warm up with a few trio numbers.

All players and singers should bring up to 3 chord charts for the songs they would like to play or sing. A copy for the pianist and one for the bassist is essential, one for the drummer is nice but not essential.

This evening is open to all players and singers of any age. (We also plan some workshops too ? and of course I will let you know when this is organised).

The first Jam Session is on 7 February at Club Chesterfield, at the slightly earlier time of 7:30pm. Participants will pay £4 on the door and spectators will pay £5.

Please let me know if you would like a poster for this event to put up in your local school, community centre, workplace, library etc. I will email it over.

We look forward to seeing you soon ? remember our next jazz trip takes us to sunny Brazil and Cuba on 17 January. Visit http://www.chesterfieldjazz.com for tickets.

See you soon!

Wendy
