City Music Foundation Announces 2014 Artists

The City Music Foundation is delighted to announce its 2014 Artists.

The City Music Foundation is one of the UK’s newest music charities and provides classical, jazz and folk musicians with expert mentoring, professional development skills and performance opportunities to help them build successful careers in music.

In 2014 three Jazz artists have been selected by a distinguished panel of judges including Julian Joseph, Alistair Anderson and Ian Ritchie (chair). The 2014 Jazz Artists are Pedro Segundo, percussion; Misha Mullov-Abbado, bass; and Giacomo Smith, clarinet.

The City Music Foundation creates bespoke projects specifically designed to suit the career aspirations and goals of each artist over a period of two years and draws on an inspiring team of creative industry experts to provide advice and guidance.

City Music Foundation Managing Director Alan Watt says ?key to our approach is to encourage the artists to think strategically about their careers and the skills they need to progress to the next step. This might mean a performance opportunity or a recording but equally it could mean working with an expert in programming or developing social media campaigns.?

The City Music Foundation aims to equip exceptional musicians with the tools they require to promote themselves to a wider audience and to establish a professional career in music.

In 2014 the City Music Foundation also supports classical artists: Joseph Shiner, clarinet; Dinara Klinton, piano; Samson Tsoy, piano; Foyle- Štšura Duo, violin/piano; Y- squared, cello/piano duo; and Kaleidoscope Saxophone Quartet.
