Jazz legend Dave Brubeck delivers a personal rejoinder after receiving the honorary doctor of music degree from Berklee College of Music at the 52nd Annual Monterey Jazz Festival on Sunday, September 20. Clint Eastwood - who received a Berklee honorary doctorate in 2007 - and Berklee president Roger H. Brown presented Brubeck with the award just prior to the festival’s final concert, at which Brubeck performed, celebrating the 50th anniversary of his classic album Time Out.
