For the first time in its history, this November EFG London Jazz Festival presents The Jazz Social. A new home for music lovers and locals alike with intimate live performances, artist signings, a pop-up record store and family events alongside live radio broadcasts and more! Located a stone’s throw away from the Barbican centre, it will be the neighbourhood’s go-to spot for two weeks, ideal for lunch breaks, after-work drinks and a vibrant social hub for festival-goers.

Opening pre-festival on Monday, 11 November, the pop-up venue in the heart of the city will transform into a lively space with an electric atmosphere. Expect a jazz cafe and bar, where you can enjoy beers brewed specially for the Festival and signature cocktails, and grab exclusive festival merchandise.

The Jazz Social is designed to foster a sense of community among festival attendees and local audiences; this destination space invites everyone to unwind and socialise in the Festival’s spirit of inclusivity and celebration. From intimate pre-concert conversations to lively discussions over drinks, The Jazz Social will create an atmosphere that encourages meaningful connections among artists, fans and industry professionals.

The in-store record shop is powered by The Official Blue Note Records Pop-Up Store, re-locating to The Jazz Social and now in its 5th year of operation during EFG London Jazz Festival. The iconic jazz label celebrates its 85th anniversary this year, and they will boast one of the finest new jazz vinyl collections in the UK to browse and purchase at The Jazz Social, plus they’ll have exclusive offers, unique label clothing, and much more. The label’s exciting pop-up media partner is Everything Jazz, the online destination which brings together jazz music and culture.

The evenings will get underway with DJ sets with the likes of Tony Higgins (Japanese Jazz on Vinyl), Ceylan Göksel (My Analogue Journal) and Zak Hawkins (Rough Trade).

As part of the Festival’s programming, there will be an exciting lineup of live performances and events at The Jazz Social. From FREE performances with the likes of Roberto Fonseca, Dirty Dozen Brass Band and Ashaine White to ticketed live performances from artists such as Bill Laurance in Session (solo), Lau Noah, Sissoko, Segal, Parisien and Peirani “Les Égarés” and Maya Delilah. One Jazz and Audio Gold present their popular night On The Corner on Thursday, 21 Nov - playing jazz on vinyl on an incredible vintage sound system and with live music from Big Massive and DJ sets from Chris Philips, Jez Nelson and Robin Brunson. SuperOrganic will celebrate their 2nd Anniversary in a specially curated event on Saturday, 23 Nov. Alongside this, The Jazz Social will be a place for exciting surprises throughout the Festival - think signings with major stars of the EFG London Jazz Festival and visits from globally renowned artists.

Live radio broadcasts from Jazz FM and One Jazz will bring the energy of the space to audiences across the country and beyond. Jazz FM will broadcast three live daytime shows across the opening weekend of the Festival - featuring Danielle Perry, Nigel Williams and Tony Minvielle - with star guests and performances appearing throughout. One Jazz and Serious have partnered with two of London’s foremost music education organisations to present lunchtime concerts. LCCM will present the LCCM Gospel and RnB Singers on 12 Nov and Vera Bohl and the Lunar Collective on Tuesday, 19 November. Guildhall School of Music & Drama, one of the world’s top performing arts institutions and a vibrant, international community of musicians, actors and production artists, presents a series of lunchtime concerts featuring outstanding musicians from the School alongside high-profile guest artists: Lucy Joy and Thomas Sladden on Wednesday, 13 November, followed by Lior Solomons-Wise and George Johnson on Thursday, 14 November.
