Wednesday, September 18, 2024

Austrian born, London based saxophonist Guido Spannocchi will be touring in Europe during September and October, performing with a variety of different line-ups. Details attached.

Guido Spannocchi writes;

Against All Odds Tour

Over the course of last year I have written a lot of new music as well as revisited some older compositions in order to put them in a new context. For quite some time I’ve been keen on working on a different sound and have been particularly drawn to the vibraphone.

The upcoming tour, which really is a leap of faith, as we neither have any public or private funding nor especially well paid concerts, is my first experiment with these new compositions and with this new sound.

The success of it all really is down to you, the audience, but previous tours have been so rewarding and heart warming that I have full faith in the beauty of music and our community.

Needless to say that we would be absolutely thrilled to share this new music with you and your friends, should you be in any of the cities or know anyone who is do come or send your friends, I can’t wait to see you all as well as meet new people on the road!

meet the band:
The band features
fantastic Berklee Alumni Tobias Meissl on vibraphone
starting off with the young lions and Zawinul prize finalists Jakob Goenitzer bass & Jonas Kocnik drums
followed by David Dolliner on bass & Max Plattner drums
(two of my favourites in Austria)

We’ll finish in a classic setting featuring the great David Six piano as well as Mina Franzke on bass & Max on drums in Passau.
