Martin Collins of Guildford Jazz has forwarded details of the organisation's programme for January 2025. Performers include Dave Limina, Ross Stanley, James Davidson, Callum Au.

Guildford Jazz – January 2025


Friday, 17 January: Dave Limina & Ross Stanley Hammond Organ Duo
Dave Limina, Hammond organist and Chair of the Piano Department at Berklee College, meets UK pianist and organist Ross Stanley who is the two times winner of a British Jazz Award in the organ category. Dave has performed and recorded all over the world with Blues Music Award winners Ronnie Earl and the Broadcasters. Ross Stanley was awarded an organ scholarship at Marlborough College. He completed a BMUS in classical and jazz piano at Guildhall in 2004 and is a regular member of the Jim Mullen Organ Trio, the Mark McKnight Organ Quartet and the Jacqui Dankworth band.

Thursday, 23 January: James Davison & Callum Au Quintet
An exciting quintet led by two award-winning young jazz musicians, trumpeter James Davison and trombonist Callum Au, with an evening of swinging music bringing the
atmosphere and vibe of 50’s and 60’s jazz to life. Inspired by the music of the classic 1960s Clark Terry/Bob Brookmeyer Quintet, the band plays a selection of hard-swinging originals and covers of some of the best of their repertoire. With the Sam Watts on piano and Matt Skelton on drums, and Marianne guesting on bass.
