Hattie Whitehead is a rising UK singer-songwriter much lauded for her solo work and for fronting Hejira, the band paying homage to Joni Mitchell. She is known for her striking vocals - crystal clear and honeyed - her lush folk-hued music, and her candid songwriting style. On her UK tour Hattie Whitehead will be performing tracks from her debut album Bloom (October 2024) that explored the aftermath of grief following the loss of her mother, mental health, and her experience as a woman within the music industry, with Hattie’s magical blend of raw honesty, empathy and hope.

Born into an artistic family, her late mother a music loving poet and her father celebrated jazz saxophonist Tim Whitehead, Hattie was raised on folk and jazz greats of the 60s and 70s such as Joni Mitchell and Nick Drake with a taste in contemporary songwriters such as Wolf Alice, Kurt Vile and Angel Olson, all collectively shaping her music that straddles modern and classic singer-songwriter styles.

On the strength of Hattie’s debut Home EP (2015) she was nominated for Glastonbury Emerging Talent and has since released two further EP’s Old Soul (2019) and Mechanism (2023), garnering fans in national media outlets such as The Telegraph and i Paper and in fellow musicians such as Elbow’s Guy Garvey (who invited Hattie to record one of his songs for Apple TV’s ‘Trying’ official soundtrack, with Hattie’s track ‘Ups and Downs’ from the Old Soul EP also featuring on the series). Hattie has also garnered much acclaim for her work fronting Hejira including, last year, a BBC 6 Music interview with Craig Charlies and a live review from Jazzwise who exclaimed of a Jazz Café, London performance: “The real star, of course, is Hattie Whitehead, one of the greatest singers I have ever heard.”

The forthcoming UK tour proceeds a busy 2024 which saw Hattie extensively tour the UK/Ireland as part of Hejira, and as a solo artist perform at Sidmouth Fringe Festival, support Indigo Girls on their UK tour including a night at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire, and play a run of small run of headline shows - including The Grace, London - to showcase her album ahead of the forthcoming extensive UK tour.
