The Jazz Mann is delighted to announce that Tim Owen has agreed to cover aspects of the London jazz scene exclusively for this site.
Logistics dictate that it is virtually impossible for me to cover London gigs on a regular basis but the appointment of Tim will give the Jazz Mann a presence at the very hub of the UK scene.
Tim is my cousin and is a big fan of jazz and improvised music (must be something in the genes).
He lives in North London and is a former contributor to the prestigious ?Wire? magazine. Tim’s tastes tend towards the cutting edge of the music. Check out his first review covering Peter Brotzmann’s recent performance at the London Jazz Festival.
Tim has recently attended London performances by John Hassell and Arve Henriksen and by the Chick Corea/John McLaughlin Five Peace Band.
We hope to bring you reviews of these events very soon.
You can read his debut review at http://www.thejazzmann.com/reviews/review/live-london-purcell-room-15-november-2008
