Kit Downes Trio-  news of Mercury Music Prize nomination and forthcoming live dates

The Kit Downes Trio have been nominated for the 2010 Mercury Music Prize for their album "Golden".

Congratulations to keyboard player Kit Downes on the news that his piano trio album “Golden” has been nominated for the 2010 Mercury Music Prize. Read the album review elsewhere on this site and see our “Saturday at Cheltenham” feature for an account of a brilliant performance by the trio at the 2010 Cheltenham Jazz Festival. The gig was broadcast on Jazz On Three last Monday (19th July) so you may still have time to catch it on “listen again”.

The band will also be appearing at the Barclaycard Mercury Prize Awards Show on Tuesday 7 September when the overall winner of the 2010 Prize will be announced.
