Marius Neset awarded Norway?s highest musical accolade ? the ?Spellemannsprisen? Award.

Saxophonist and composer Marius Neset has received the most important Norwegian music award ?Spellemannsprisen? for his ACT debut album ?Lion?, recorded with the Trondheim Jazz Orchestra.

Marius Neset is awarded Norway’s highest musical accolade ? the ?Spellemannsprisen? Award
Marius Neset has received the most important Norwegian music award ?Spellemannsprisen? for his ACT debut album ?Lion? with the Trondheim Jazz Orchestra. The award ceremony, which took place on January 17th, was broadcast live on Norwegian national television station NRK.
Founded in 1972 the Spellemannsprisen is a multi-genre award. The winners are selected by a jury consisting of professionals from various fields of the Norwegian music scene. Previous winners in the ?jazz? category include Tord Gustavsen, Bugge Wesseltoft, Jon Christensen and Solveig Slettahjell.
Neset’s new album ?Pinball? will be released by ACT on February 2nd 2015 (UK release date).
