Receives Highlights In Jazz Annual Award

Last Thursday night (5-16-19 ) at Tribeca Performing Arts Center Highlights In Jazz producer Jack Kleinsinger presented trumpet great Randy Brecker with their annual award.

Every year since 1974 Highlights In Jazz has honoured a living jazz musician for their ‘matchless musical achievements’.

Previous honourees have included Lionel Hampton, Roy Eldridge, Frank Wess, Roy Haynes, Maxine Sullivan, Hank Jones, Sonny Fortune and Dr. Billy Taylor to name a few.

A stellar lineup of jazz masters and rising stars celebrated Randy at the May 16th concert.
Pianist George Cables, bassist Buster Williams, drummer Danny Gottlieb, drummer/vibraphonist Chuck Redd, vocalist Veronica Swift, and saxophonists Peter Anderson and Will Anderson and trombonist Joe McDonough.
