The SNJO and its offshoots including the Tommy Smith Youth Jazz Orchestra and students from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland will present a diverse series of events during Jan & Feb 2025.

This January, we invite you to join us for a series of performances that celebrate Scotland’s extraordinary musical talent, from emerging young stars to established icons of the jazz and folk worlds. This Side-by-Side offers students from Royal Conservatoire of Scotland the opportunity to explore the nuances of jazz performance.
The week-long programme culminates in a performance showcasing the timeless music of legendary jazz composer Benny Golson. With a focus on ensemble playing and improvisation, this project provides students with the support and mentorship to take their playing to the next level.
