On Friday November 7th the Jazzmann will be attending the Jazz Sing Out! event at the Assembly Rooms, Presteigne, Powys. A review will subsequently appear on this site.

The event will be headlined by the young pianist Will Butterworth leading a trio featuring top jazz names in the form of Dylan Howe (drums) and Jake McMurchie (saxophones). Butterworth cites Keith Jarrett and Brad Mehldau as key influences.

Dylan is the son of former Yes guitarist Steve Howe and is a respected musician in his own right. He leads his own hard bop style quintet and has also filled the drum chair with The Blockheads.

Powerful saxophonist McMurchie is a member of the award winning Bristol based electric jazz group The Blessing, an offshoot of the acclaimed rock group Portishead.

Support comes from vocalist/pianist Nonny James accompanied by saxophonist Stuart Spiers.
The event is promoted by Tigerfish Productions. The evening commences at 8.00 p.m. Tickets priced at £9.00 each can be ordered from Tony Walton on 01568 770177.
