Following his four performances at Womad Festival, Victor Deme makes his live London debut.

26th October at The Tabernacle

Victor D?m? is the voice of a contemporary West Africa ? a voice rooted in the griot tradition inherited from his mother, honed in the nightclubs of Abidjan and Ougadougou, and finally recorded after a chance meeting with Camille Louvel (one of Burkina Faso’s most important promoters) and French journalist David Corneillas. Recorded in 2007 when Victor was 46, the album transcends the typical sounds from West Africa to stand alone as a powerful work from a singer/songwriter that has been quietly perfecting his craft for the best part of thirty years.

The sound will appeal to fans of Orchestre Baobab, Salif Keita and early Youssou N’dour.
